Finally, finally, the Rocket Girls DVDSubber scripts are ready. You can get them here. Of course if you haven't bought the R2s you could wait a few weeks and get the complete collection from Bandai. Also, Funimation is on the verge of restarting R1 Saiunkoku releases, so if you were left in the lurch by Geneon's demise, they're hooking you up.

Funimation has acquired the rights to Karin and Saiunkoku (Along with many other series) from the smouldering ruins of Geneon, so if you were worried about the R1 releases of those series not finishing, you can relax.

According to a post on AnimeOnDVD, Geneon has sent out a mailer with release information for Saiunkoku DVD 1 (with optional box). As a result we will no longer distribute season 1 or season 2.
This does create an unanticipated situation with respect to the DVDSubber scripts, since the total price of the R1s is expected to be more than the price of the remaining R2s, but the first R1 will be released before the last R2, and the release of the first R1 is our timeframe for stopping distribution of the DVDSubber scripts. If you have been picking up the R2 DVDs, don't worry, we will get you the scripts so you don't have to change horses in mid-stream and end up spending more than you were planning to. For everyone else, Geneon's disc 1 comes out at the end of July, and it looks like it's going to be a 9 disc release. Please support them so they know what kind of anime to finance in the future.

Well, apparently the other group members have decided to stop sitting back and watching the licensing game from the sidelines. Tale of Saiunkoku, Season 2 will indeed be taken as a project by We Suck Fansubs.
With that, episode 1 is available on the torrents.

After a short break, we are back into the translations scene, with a new project! Rocket Girls, episode 1, now available on the torrents.
For those who await translations of Tale of Saiunkoku season 2, we are currently awaiting further information regarding the licensing of season 1. In good faith, we will treat the licensee of Season 1 to also have the license for Season 2; further developments are necessary before we can continue on that line.

Nearing the end of the first season, the last episodes are in the pipeline. For now, just Tale of Saiunkoku 37. Hope to be done shortly. ^^
Edit: rules of engagement, number 18. You'll probably have noticed that I like to make releases at around 11pm to 1am, North American Eastern Time. That's because I like to sleep while releases go. Unfortunately, if my computer craps out, I'm not there to notice until the next morning. Thus, terrible "no seeder" problems can occur between these times.

Tale of Saiunkoku, episode 35. In the meantime, does anybody have any leads for jobs? It really bites not having money. Which reminds me, buy stuff from the right sidebar if you have money.

According to a thread on AnimeOnDVD.com - Geneon Entertainment USA has registered the domain saiunkokudvd.com. (You can perform a WHOIS lookup for saiunkokudvd.com.)
While domain acquisition for a series by an North American licensing company may reflect that the company has licensed said series, there exists cases where one company acquires the domain for a series, only for that company to not license that series in R1. Examples:
- Funimation has acquired the domain princeoftennis.com a while ago, yet it was Viz who ultimately licensed Prince of Tennis.
- In 2004, Funimation picked up the gantz.tv domain. Gantz has now been released in its entirety in R1, by ADV.
In other words, Geneon's acquisition of saiunkokudvd.com should not be treated as a formal announcement that Saiunkoku has been licensed, so We Suck will continue work on Saiunkoku until any formal announcement of an R1 license from any North American licensing company.
However, as an advance notice: if there is any formal announcement of an R1 license from Saiunkoku from any North American licensing company, We Suck will remove all existing episodes of Saiunkoku from distribution, and will not release any outstanding episodes. If that happens, please do support the company who has licensed the series and buy the R1 DVDs!
Thank you for your on-going support of We Suck Fansubs.

Delayed release for Tale of Saiunkoku, episode 32 due to Chinese New Year. So two episodes today, 32 and 33.
Edit: oops. That was a terrible mistake of me for episode 33... done!

Saiunkoku DVD 7 is out, so we've taken down the torrent for episodes 19 through 21. Sorry about the scripts being late. We've fallen behind on them in exchange for catching up on new releases.
Also, in the we-need-to-pay-more-attention-to-arbitrary-milestones department, episode 30 was We Suck's 150th release.
