For those of you who were fans of Takahashi Rumiko Theatre before we dropped the project, Live-eviL has released their scripts to the series over on Script Club. The R2 DVDs come out this month, both in a box set and in four separate discs of three or four episodes each. You'd have to make your own DVDSubber profile out of the script files in order to watch the episodes with the subtitles, unless L-E themselves decide to make a DVDSubber profile out of the scripts, but if you like the show and want subtitled DVDs, it's probably a small price to pay... especially compared to the larger price of the actual DVDs.

It looks like with Live-eviL having completed Takahashi Rumiko Theater, in combination with our regular school, that project will now be discontinued. Sorry to anybody waiting on that and we hope to not disappoint with our future works.

Blame Blizzard for Diablo II and Warcraft III.

Popotan 11 has just been posted on our torrent page.

For those of you wondering why we haven't been getting any Takahashi Rumiko Theater done, I'll say two words: Diablo II. Not to mention the lack of DVDs for this show puts a strain on our group policy - to get the DVDs and release timed scripts for them.

Popotan DVD 1 (for region 2) is scheduled to release September 30, and we are about to place an order for them. Please support (well, subsidize) this purchase by donating via PayPal - paying for quality scripts is worth it!

If you've been keeping track of our releases, you'll notice that we've been pretty consistent about getting Popotan out on Saturday, with last week being our latest at a little after midnight. Well, no such luck this week. As of right now, we have no raw for Popotan 9, so the earliest we could get it out is tomorrow evening, with Monday being a more likely result--and that's under the assumption that I was to be delivered a raw this moment. If you have a Popotan 9 raw, I'll be waiting in #animecentral on EnterTheGame; feel free to send it my way. (I know about and am not interested in the l33t-raws raw of Popotan 9; if you've read our group's policies, you probably have an idea of why I don't want this group to be associated with them.)
On the Takahashi Rumiko Theater front, we have raws for 6 and 9, but not for 7, 8, 10, or 11; classes started at our university this past week, so MizuNoMike has that to worry about, on top of some subtitling for our university's anime club. I can't blame him for doing that, since it's actually my job to make sure he gets it done, and I also can't blame him for getting a little discouraged considering our download numbers--the latest numbers put us at 191, with 2 trying to download. We know there are people who like our version and want us to see it continue (Since we've spoken to some of them), but from what we can see, there's no planned DVD release of TRT, so our policy of releasing scripts for people who want to buy the DVDs doesn't look like it will come into play one way or the other.
So that's the state of things. Hopefully we'll be able to get the subtilte train rolling again shortly, so bear with us for a little while.

In a testament to how much we suck, we totally blundered the preview to episode 6 of Takahashi Rumiko Theater at the end of Episode 5. As such, we are releasing a revised episode preview, to save ourselves the trouble of re-distroing a version 2. A mere 4mb in size!

We've released Takahashi Rumiko Theater 5. This one may be a little less CPU intensive than past files. Rejoice!

Takahashi Rumiko Theater 4 has been granted to the citizens of the world, have fun!

If you're getting video problems (notably colour bleeding), change codecs to unstable XviD. In particular, make sure ffdshow is using XviD to decode content with XVID fourcc, instead of libavcodec.

Buy now and get a free ginsu knife, absolutely free! Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back! (We Suck will not cover incidental expenses, including but not limited to the wastage of bandwidth in taking this special limited-time offer. Donations to the paypal account which will eventually be set up required. We will not actually supply ginsu knives.)

Hot off the encoding presses: Takahashi Rumiko Theater 3.

In most cases, the encoder's job is simple. Take a script, take the raw, put them together, and wait. And wait. And wait. That takes no talent. This time around, we so very much want a talented encoder that can make a bad raw look good. But We Suck, so our encoder isn't particularly good at this - it shows.

Not to mention that because We Suck is out of school for a few weeks, we don't have access to the big school pipe. So distro Sucks too.

Enjoy it - try not to cringe too much.

Best place to contact us? /dev/null, I mean, #animecentral@etg.

Takahashi Rumiko Theater 2 has now been released. Let it be a lesson to us that translating the night after an all nighter can lead to interesting scripts. But fear not the script went though two other people that night. Granted we were all up since the day before working on the other releases we had this weekend. But don't fear I saw the after script good nights sleep (12 hours worth) and it looked fine, especially considering our name. Oh well at least we keep learning stuff.

Well it certainly was a fun weekend, nothing like spending 48 in the Comfy lounge with 2 close buddies subtitling anime (with a couple short naps on the couchs in between). Hope everyone enjoys the shows. Goodnight all.

Oh yeah, one other lesson learned this weekend, setting up a wireless network between 2 laptops at a pizza place to play the SNES Ranma puzzle game in two player makes us look like real geeks, but then again we are real geeks.

A lesson to be learned: Don't go through an all-night translation run with an exam the next day. With that in mind, enjoy Takahashi Rumiko Theater 01.

And yes, Tyreal, we did make another release.

<Torgen> Next I'll claim that my translations are perfect, and any apparent errors are really elaborate typos.
<MSH> typos introduced by the keyboard of course, not by you!
<Torgen> naturally.
<_bla_> Torgen: why is group called "we suck" then not "my keyboard sucks" ?
<Torgen> typo.
<Torgen> Tyreal: not enough room in your nick for |sucks?
<Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment> crap!
<Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment> I suck!
* Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment is now known as Tyreal|Enlightenment|Sucks
<Tyreal|Enlightenment|Sucks> phew
<Tyreal|Sucks> Torgen: how DID you do those DVD type subs by the way :P
<Tyreal|Sucks> just got fonts that looked like that, or used an actual dvd subtitling proggie
<Torgen> It's Arial.
<Torgen> I used TextSub.
<Tyreal|Sucks> ahh
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: THERE YOU ARE
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: do you really think I suck ;_;
<Torgen> no.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> oh good
<Torgen> I was a little worried that it'd be interpreted that way, though.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: nah, I just laughed for about 2 hours
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> When I started getting pm's about it
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> "You're from we-suck"
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> apparently we-suck is popular with the french
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Don't ask me why XD
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> They say they want to "worship you"
<Torgen> I'll put you in parenths next time so it's clear you just post the raws.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> no, put Tyreal|Sucks in there
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> I'm amused by this now, I kind of like it XD
<Shouta> <WeSuck> You = my bitch
<Torgen> Yeah, it's like taking the ghost suit of the ghost lego man and putting it on the astronaut lego man.
<Torgen> The ghost lego man is now just a normal lego man with a featureless face.
<Torgen> while the astronaut gets to look out through the ghost suit's eyeholes.
<Spyre> Torgen that has to be the best analogy ever.
<Spyre> Thats EXACTLY what its like!
* Spyre is in awe
<kara|hw> i told crustol...
<kara|hw> '私解析していてちょっぴり濡れちゃった。'
<kara|hw> he hasnt talked to me in a while
(Trans. note: this is Yoriko's line from about 7 minutes into BPS 03-2)
<AWAY-Bomb|AutoShow> Whee!
<AWAY-Bomb|AutoShow> Suck!
<Torgen> no, because Hawaii would have been right
<Torgen> but it was wrong.
<Torgen> so it was left.
<Torgen> :(foot)
<Torgen> Think you could co-produce some Gundam show with cat girls in it?
<Jekichu-clone> gundam....cat girls...
<Jekichu-clone> ...
<Jekichu-clone> ....
<Jekichu-clone> no
<Torgen> Like have cat-girls (and boys, and women, and men) instead of Newtypes or Coordinators...
<Torgen> or whatever other gundam series had.
<Jekichu-clone> laf, thats straight up pornographic
<Torgen> think of the ratings!
<Jekichu-clone> rawwwrrrr
<PyRC> basket, if everything is recursive, maybe there are no fansubs.
<Torgen> And Ensei doesn't sound like I expected him to when I first saw him...
<Torgen> He looks all gruff...
<Torgen> and he sounds so comical.
<arcImpulse> and you expected...
<Torgen> him to sound all gruff, like those assassins...
<Torgen> but he sounds uncultured;
<Torgen> not rogueish.
<Torgen> it's like, if he said "wanna come over and watch the game?" I'd take a moment to realize that was an anachronism.
<arcImpulse> if you think he sounds weird... just wait till we get to Eccentric Kou
<arcImpulse> and you'd be like...holy anachronism~~
<Torgen> what, does Kou sound like a robot or something?
<arcImpulse> damn, I couldn't fool you, ne?
