I have decided that GridBagLayout is the most evil contraption ever devised. It must have cost programmer-years of suffering. For those who know what I'm talking about, I'm sure you understand.

Concerning Layout Managers: After torturing myself with GridBagLayout for some time I got to know JGoodies' FormLayout by chance. Reminds me of using tables in html - easy (includes nicely written documentation as well) :).
