wow that's the same speed I get when I encode stuff in virtualdub .... and my machine just had its 8th birthday! (Though the cpu is only 6 years old.)

when Winner says 'my first person' does he mean something like 'my first love'?

That's what he means, but what he literally says is "My first person."

Story is rapidy moving towards a conclusion. Great episode, nice job subbing it as always. It's at the point now where I should stop watching it for a few weeks so I can watch the final 3 all in one sitting (as I usually like to do), but I doubt I have the patience to wait with Karin -- just like the show too much.
Well, it's not a laptop, but I have an 1981 TRS-80 lying around if you want to borrow it... ;)

Someone on another forum pointed out that the
Winner family names are sequential: We have
Victor (V), then Winner (W). It probably all started
with A (Alfred). Where's Winner's father? Might
he have decided not to assist the family quest
and took off on his own? This series is so good
it's just great. Thanks again for the great fabsub!

I'm not quite sure, but I'm beginning to suspect that the Sinclair clan might be the clan that Elda's human love was from. The way Victor makes it sound is that Elda did something a long time ago to their clan and that would make sense.

As for the sequential alphabet names, it doesn't hold true unless Winner's father's name also started with a "W" or a "V" because Victor is the grandfather. If it were true then Winner's father would have a "W" name and Winner's name should start with an "X". Unless of course it is every two generations have names with the same starting letter. Like (making up some names) Vince (great-grandfather), Victor (grandfather), Walter (father), Winner.
