We Suck Fansubs

I'm back from AnimeExpo. Ever feel like you need a vacation, and then realize you just got back from one? My Survive box set is here, but I don't know if I'm in good shape to start working on it tonight, and it's a safe bet I'll have 36 and 37 done before the scripts are ready to release -- and 37 hasn't even aired yet! (While I've said 'paying customers first' in the past, suppose translating a new survive episode takes 1 'day', by which I mean the amount of time in an average day that I can devote to such pursuits, and that preparing the scripts for 14 episodes to be released in DVDSubber format takes 7 'days'. Then if I start each new episode as soon as possible, the scripts are delayed by 2 days, or ~29% of the optimal time for them, while the new episodes get the optimal release time. If I wait on the new episodes until the scripts are done, then work on the new episodes in order, the scripts get their optimal time, but episode 36 take 7 times the optimal time, and episode 37 takes 6 times the optimal time (because it gets finished a day later, but doesn't air until 2 days from now). When you look at it that way, the first schedule is much better. Plus, those of you who bought the box are probably waiting on the new episodes just as much as those of you who didn't, so I trust you won't be too upset.
