Finally, finally, the Rocket Girls DVDSubber scripts are ready. You can get them here. Of course if you haven't bought the R2s you could wait a few weeks and get the complete collection from Bandai. Also, Funimation is on the verge of restarting R1 Saiunkoku releases, so if you were left in the lurch by Geneon's demise, they're hooking you up.

Sunday, July 06, 2008

Funimation has acquired the rights to Karin and Saiunkoku (Along with many other series) from the smouldering ruins of Geneon, so if you were worried about the R1 releases of those series not finishing, you can relax.

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Bandai (the good one) has licensed Rocket Girls, announced at Anime Boston. If you already bought the R2s and are still waiting for our ZDS scripts, we do still plan to release them. If you haven't, then please support the localized release.

Tired and very grumpy from the weather, I forgot I had this lying around.

And that's that, finally. Rocket Girls, episode 12. And with a big fat finally.

On that note, I'm going to hibernate.

Sunday, November 25, 2007

Finally, for those of you who have been faithfully purchasing the Region 2 DVDs of Tale of Saiunkoku, the final script pack is available. As always, a drop-in replacement.

Friday, November 02, 2007

Sometimes work just gets so tiring that there's nothing more desirable than sleep. I've been getting that lately; this time, therefore, the delay is my fault.

Rocket Girls 11.

Friday, September 28, 2007

I'm at work right now, so it may actually not be uploading at all. I can't tell. Hopefully it's working. Anyway, Rocket Girls, episode 10.

Saturday, September 08, 2007

I don't know why we still even work on this series, but I'm just the encoder.... and to a lesser extent, the PR person. Ah, the joys of being a spin hack. Rocket Girls, episode 9.

Saturday, August 25, 2007

We really need to do more work, faster and better.

Tale of Saiunkoku, DVD script packs for Discs 1 through 11. As usual, a drop-in replacement. Also, if you've not gotten the R2s, please get the R1s. Great series.

And with this, we are officially a terribly slow group. Though we're working on it. Ish. Seriously, it's tough to translate anime at 35,000 ft.

Rocket Girls, episode 08.

Saturday, June 30, 2007

I'm not even sure if we're officially still operational... well, actually I am. Since this is another release, finally. Rocket Girls, episode 7.

Friday, June 08, 2007

Rocket Girls episode 6 is available on the torrents.

Now to resume looking for excellent travel deals. Do you know of any? I personally wouldn't mind travelling even as much as Greg Dean does (Real Life Comics).

Saturday, June 02, 2007

As part of the catching up, Rocket Girls, episode 5.

Thursday, May 31, 2007

Also, as we try to dig ourselves out of a script backlog, the DVDSubber scripts for Saiunkoku DVD 5 are out for anyone who's been picking up the R2s.

Weeks without Internet access really hurts, I now know. But it was for a good cause; I'm now working! And can now pay the bills, like this Internet access thing. So I can use it to do things like release Rocket Girls, episode 4.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

This might be the only time you see a teenage girl going to this much trouble to gain weight. Rocket Girls 3 is released.

Saturday, May 12, 2007

A public service announcement: please don't try what goes on in Rocket Girls, episode 2, at home. Especially not with the guns.

In other news, no, you will not be able to convince us to break policy for subtitling Tale of Saiunkoku season 2.

Thursday, May 03, 2007

According to a post on AnimeOnDVD, Geneon has sent out a mailer with release information for Saiunkoku DVD 1 (with optional box). As a result we will no longer distribute season 1 or season 2.
This does create an unanticipated situation with respect to the DVDSubber scripts, since the total price of the R1s is expected to be more than the price of the remaining R2s, but the first R1 will be released before the last R2, and the release of the first R1 is our timeframe for stopping distribution of the DVDSubber scripts. If you have been picking up the R2 DVDs, don't worry, we will get you the scripts so you don't have to change horses in mid-stream and end up spending more than you were planning to. For everyone else, Geneon's disc 1 comes out at the end of July, and it looks like it's going to be a 9 disc release. Please support them so they know what kind of anime to finance in the future.

<Torgen> Next I'll claim that my translations are perfect, and any apparent errors are really elaborate typos.
<MSH> typos introduced by the keyboard of course, not by you!
<Torgen> naturally.
<_bla_> Torgen: why is group called "we suck" then not "my keyboard sucks" ?
<Torgen> typo.
<Torgen> Tyreal: not enough room in your nick for |sucks?
<Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment> crap!
<Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment> I suck!
* Tyreal|Seeking|Enlightenment is now known as Tyreal|Enlightenment|Sucks
<Tyreal|Enlightenment|Sucks> phew
<Tyreal|Sucks> Torgen: how DID you do those DVD type subs by the way :P
<Tyreal|Sucks> just got fonts that looked like that, or used an actual dvd subtitling proggie
<Torgen> It's Arial.
<Torgen> I used TextSub.
<Tyreal|Sucks> ahh
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: THERE YOU ARE
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: do you really think I suck ;_;
<Torgen> no.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> oh good
<Torgen> I was a little worried that it'd be interpreted that way, though.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Torgen: nah, I just laughed for about 2 hours
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> When I started getting pm's about it
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> "You're from we-suck"
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> apparently we-suck is popular with the french
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> Don't ask me why XD
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> They say they want to "worship you"
<Torgen> I'll put you in parenths next time so it's clear you just post the raws.
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> no, put Tyreal|Sucks in there
<Tyreal|Work|Sucks> I'm amused by this now, I kind of like it XD
<Shouta> <WeSuck> You = my bitch
<Torgen> Yeah, it's like taking the ghost suit of the ghost lego man and putting it on the astronaut lego man.
<Torgen> The ghost lego man is now just a normal lego man with a featureless face.
<Torgen> while the astronaut gets to look out through the ghost suit's eyeholes.
<Spyre> Torgen that has to be the best analogy ever.
<Spyre> Thats EXACTLY what its like!
* Spyre is in awe
<kara|hw> i told crustol...
<kara|hw> '私解析していてちょっぴり濡れちゃった。'
<kara|hw> he hasnt talked to me in a while

<AWAY-Bomb|AutoShow> Whee!
<AWAY-Bomb|AutoShow> Suck!
<Torgen> no, because Hawaii would have been right
<Torgen> but it was wrong.

<Torgen> Think you could co-produce some Gundam show with cat girls in it?
<Jekichu-clone> gundam....cat girls...
<Jekichu-clone> ...
<Jekichu-clone> ....
<Jekichu-clone> no
<Torgen> Like have cat-girls (and boys, and women, and men) instead of Newtypes or Coordinators...
<Torgen> or whatever other gundam series had.
<Jekichu-clone> laf, thats straight up pornographic
<Torgen> think of the ratings!
<Jekichu-clone> rawwwrrrr
<PyRC> basket, if everything is recursive, maybe there are no fansubs.
<Torgen> And Ensei doesn't sound like I expected him to when I first saw him...
<Torgen> He looks all gruff...
<Torgen> and he sounds so comical.
<arcImpulse> and you expected...
<Torgen> him to sound all gruff, like those assassins...
<Torgen> but he sounds uncultured;
<Torgen> not rogueish.
<Torgen> it's like, if he said "wanna come over and watch the game?" I'd take a moment to realize that was an anachronism.
<arcImpulse> if you think he sounds weird... just wait till we get to Eccentric Kou
<arcImpulse> and you'd be like...holy anachronism~~
<Torgen> what, does Kou sound like a robot or something?
<arcImpulse> damn, I couldn't fool you, ne?
